High Energy Physics Scientific Data Submission

The "Measures for the Management of Scientific Data" and the "Measures for the Management of the National Science and Technology Resource Sharing Service Platform" stipulate that scientific data generated from science and technology programs (including special projects, funds, etc.) at all levels funded by government budget funds shall be submitted by the project-leading entity to the relevant scientific data center. The management authorities of science and technology programs (including special projects, funds, etc.) at all levels shall establish a mechanism whereby scientific data submission is a prerequisite for the acceptance review of these programs. Scientific data generated after the acceptance of a project or sub-project shall also be submitted. Furthermore, other scientific data generated from social funds are encouraged to be submitted to the relevant scientific data centers.

The National High Energy Science Data Center provides data submission services for high-energy physics and related disciplines, aiming to improve the efficiency of scientific data utilization and the output of scientific and technological achievements. For science and technology program projects in other disciplinary fields that are willing to submit their data to the High Energy Science Data Center, the Center will also provide data submission services depending on the relevance of the data.

Submission Process

The data submitter shall designate a data submission contact person to follow and register as a user of the data submission system. The user shall log in to the data submission system by scanning the WeChat public service account of the national website or the China Science and Technology Cloud using WeChat, and then complete the personal information and institutional information.

After logging into the data submission system, the data submission contact person shall fill out the data submission intention online and submit it.

After the data submission contact person has prepared the specific project data submission plan online and organized the detailed list of scientific data to be submitted, they shall submit it to the data submission system. The data submission specialist shall then review the plan and input the data submission scheme.

The online data submission system automatically generates a data submission agreement based on the reviewed data submission catalog for the user to download. The data center and the submitting entity shall jointly sign the data submission agreement, and both parties shall carry out the data submission work in accordance with the terms of the agreement.

The scientific data submitter shall organize and process the scientific data. Only after the data have been reviewed and approved by their affiliated institution and the institution that produced the data, can they be submitted to the data center through the data submission system. Upon successful data review, a certificate of data submission shall be issued.

The data submission specialist at the data center shall verify, item by item, the project data submission agreement, the project task review criteria, and the submitted scientific data. For data that pass the formal inspection and meet the quality requirements for submission, the data center shall issue a formal certificate of data submission to the submitting entity.
